The heralding in of the New Year, throughout the world, is one that is celebrated with great fervour, festivity and enthusiasm. It is amazing but when midnight strikes the ushering in of New Year’s Day, every single person, anywhere around the globe, forget their petty differences, their bitter enmity, their unprecedented hatred, their uncalled-for racist feelings and disdain for their own fellow-beings. Every single person’s heart is miraculously filled with feelings of great magnanimity, generosity, liberal-mindedness and the overall impression is one of immense joy, unity, peace, brotherhood and goodwill among one and all. People are of the impression that they are starting afresh; with new hopes, new dreams and new aspirations for a better tomorrow.

The New Year signals a brand-new chapter in the Book of Life and while this tends to be true, the essence of the Book of our Lives does not really change at all. It is astonishing and incredible how not one of us really seems to acknowledge this universal truth and fact. The reality is that the story of daily lives just continues from where it left off. Life goes on in much the same vein and even though you may not be too keen to hear this at the start of this New Year, the fact is that we just continue with the self-same problems and sorrows as earlier on – those of extreme poverty; a terrific population explosion; rampant hunger and starvation especially in the Third World countries; illiteracy in the millions; ever-increasing unemployment, souring inflation; an alarming amount of racial hatred and racial discrimination ever on the increase; horrific crimes against humanity and even open combat and a full-fledged war between enemy countries. More and more alarming divisions and discrimination are further created in this way – BY US FALLIBLE MORTALS – BY OUR VERY OWN mistakes, narrow-mindedness, petty-mindedness, hatred, spite, malice, selfishness, callousness and indifference towards our own kind.

People tend to make a lot of new and fruitful resolutions in any given New Year – resolutions that they might take heed of or not adhere to at all. So why make them in the first place? Nothing ever really changes at all – it is a fallacy to believe so.The world continues living in much the same way – the chapter in our lives may very well be new but the contents of the Tale in the Book of Life just pick up from wherever it left off and continue along the self-same lines. LIFE GOES ON – NOTHING CHANGES.

Now I could very well write a beautifully worded blog for you and wish each one of you every aspect of Goodness and benevolence in the world. I could wish for you that every possible virtue touches your lives with warmth; that all the problems of the past be blown away forever, from all our lives. It is like wishing for an idealistic world – for a ‘Utopia’ that is far from the case in all reality. It is nothing short of LIVING IN A FOOL’S PARADISE. I could use all the possible high-flown words of praise to wish you well – which of course I certainly do.

I have not done so specifically because all the vocabulary that I wanted to use seemed to me to be just words – empty and hollow words – that’s all. What is truly the sense of using words of praise when they are only words, at the end of the day – words without any real meaning or without any real significance; words that lack any real purpose, determination and destination; words that have no realistic goal or aim?

If we do not care take the time out to implement the essence of benevolence and goodness of these words of praise and good wishes, what is the reason to utter them at all?

How do you expect the Supreme Being to help us, at all, if we can not or will not help ourselves first? MAN IS HIS OWN WORST ENEMY.IT IS UNDENIABLE. WE PREY ON, ABUSE, MISTREAT , ASSAULT AND ATTACK OUR OWN KIND – EITHER WITH OUR WORDS OR WITH OUR ACTIONS OR WITH BOTH PUT TOGETHER.

What is the sense of expressing so many good wishes and thoughts to others when there is no real, firm and worth-while intention to improve our ways and become better human beings? It seems to be quite, quite senseless and fruitless, that’s what! A total waste of precious time and energy! There is just NO foresight NOR any forethought in this matter, that’s what is essentially so wrong!

Whether you want to accept this incontrovertible fact or not, the undeniable truth is that it is that NOTHING SHORT OF A MIRACLE WILL SAVE OUR SOULS- if at all – a Miracle that you should assume is not going to fall like “manna” in a glittering and glowing shower from the Higher Realms, as a gift from God on all mortals. Please don’t be presumptuous enough to presume that is your rightful-due; it is not well-deserved; it is not the nature of your birth-right – unless you work towards actively achieving it .

WE REALLY DO NEED A MIRACLE TO SAVE US FROM OURSELVES – NEVER FOOL YOURSELF INTO THINKING AND BELIEVING OTHERWISE! NOT UNLESS WE DO IT FIRST.

Queen are a British rock band formed in London in 1971, originally consisting of the late Freddie Mercury (lead vocals, piano), Brian May (guitar, vocals), John Deacon (bass guitar), and Roger Taylor (drums, vocals). So, let’s NOT pray for a Miracle to Save Our Souls – let us actively choose to make this miracle OUR reality. Let us not choose to forget that there are 365 days to any given year – it is NOT only New’s Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day that count – IT IS EVERY SINGLE DAY OF THE YEAR AND EACH DAY OF YOUR LIFE THAT COUNTS AND MATTERS IN THE END.

JOY TO THE WORLD FOR A BETTER, HAPPIER, HEALTHIER AND UNIFIED TOMORROW, that’s all I can truly say!

P.S. We ought to take this opportunity to also thank the Mayans, most sincerely, for their erroneous prediction concerning the End of the World in 2012.

It is nothing short of a Miracle that has saved us all in this case and that IS a fact.
